ASEANAPOL Secretariat Joins Bilateral Meeting Between Philippine and Vietnamese Delegations at 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly

On November 4, 2024, on the sidelines of the 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly in Glasgow, Scotland, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, led by Executive Director Police Colonel David Martinez Vinluan and Police Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Director for Plans and Programmes, joined the Philippine delegation headed by USEC Jesse Hermogenes T. Andres (DOJ), along with representatives from the DFA, NBI, BI, PCG, and the PNP led by PGen Rommel Francisco D. Marbil (CPNP), PBGen Lex Ephraim C. Gurat (TADPL), and PCol Harold P. Depositar (Chief, IAIAD, DPL). They met with the Vietnamese delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Vice-Minister of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, alongside Police Major General Tran Minh Tien, Director General of the Office of Investigation Police Agency (OIPA), MPS.
As esteemed members of ASEANAPOL, the PNP and OIPA engaged in discussions to expand collaboration in key areas. The focus was on enhancing information-sharing channels, improving interoperability, and developing joint training programs to address emerging security threats.
This meeting underscored both parties' commitment to combating transnational crime and advancing international police cooperation, marking a significant step toward deeper engagement and joint efforts to strengthen global law enforcement capabilities.
