On September 4, 2024, a joint operation between the Indonesia National Police (INP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) led to the arrest and deportation of dismissed Mayor Alice Guo. This operation exemplifies ASEANAPOL's commitment to regional cooperation in combating transnational crime.
On September 5, 2024, Indonesian authorities officially handed Guo over to Philippine officials in Jakarta, with PNP Chief General Rommel Marbil and Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. overseeing the transfer. Guo was later flown to the Philippines, where she was processed at Camp Crame before being turned over to the Senate due to an existing arrest warrant.
This operation, spearheaded by INP Chief Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and facilitated by Inspector General of Police Krisna Murti, exemplifies the success of ASEANAPOL’s police-to-police partnerships. Through seamless intelligence sharing and cooperation, INP and PNP have shown how law enforcement across ASEAN member states can effectively address complex cross-border crimes and uphold justice, reinforcing regional peace and security.
