ASEANAPOL Secretariat Joins PDRM Special Dialogue II 2024: Strengthening Collaboration in Law Enforcement and Security

On August 22, 2024, ACP Dr. Bakri bin Hj. Zainal Abidin, Director for Police Services at the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, participated in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Special Dialogue II 2024 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, under the supervision of Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Royal Malaysia Police, is part of the celebration of Malaysia’s 67th National Day. It brings together approximately 500 attendees, including representatives from law enforcement, public sector departments and agencies, embassies, and exhibitors. The day features keynote addresses by distinguished speakers, such as officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Malaysia, followed by a mini exhibition and a networking luncheon.
A key focus of the dialogue is strengthening the role of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) and fostering cooperation with other enforcement agencies to address the complex challenges of narcotics crime. The program includes special dialogue sessions from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) and breakout group discussions on critical narcotic crime issues and strategies.
This high-level event, co-organized by Koperasi Polis Diraja Malaysia Berhad (KPDRM) and Alpine Integrated Solution Sdn. Bhd. (AIS), offers a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration among law enforcement and security professionals. Attendees are expected to engage in insightful discussions and explore new opportunities for advancing public safety and security in the region.
