On June 26, 2024, ASEANAPOL Secretariat Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan made a courtesy visit to the Honourable CP Dato' Sri Azmi bin Abu Kassim, the Director of Management for the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), at his office in Bukit Aman Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This visit was part of a series of courtesy calls initiated by Executive Director
Vinluan since assuming his position on January 1, 2024.
This initiative for these courtesy calls was encouraged by RMP’s Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin bin Husain, who advocated for the idea during Executive Director Vinluan’s initial courtesy call on January 10, 2024. The primary aim of these visits is to foster stronger relationships, enhance collaboration, and improve communication between the ASEANAPOL Secretariat and various departments within the RMP.
The purpose of this particular visit was to engage in discussions regarding strategic collaboration on human resource management and development, focusing on strengthening the bilateral relationship between ASEANAPOL and RMP. The discussions aimed to identify areas of mutual interest and potential cooperative initiatives that would benefit both organizations.
The ASEANAPOL delegation included Police Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Director for Plans and Programmes, and Superintendent Azrul Hisham bin Mohd Shaffei, Head of Administrative and Technical Staff. Their presence underscored the importance of a collaborative approach to achieving ASEANAPOL's strategic objectives.
Also in attendance at the courtesy call were the Honourable DCP Dato' Pahlawan Anuar bin Othman, Deputy Director of Management (Administration), and ACP Rohana binti Abd Rahman, Principal Assistant Director (Finance) of the Department of Logistics and Technology (JLog). Their participation highlighted the significance of a comprehensive dialogue encompassing various facets of police administration and logistics.
The courtesy call session proceeded smoothly and effectively met its objectives. Both parties expressed a strong commitment to enhancing their collaborative efforts and exploring new avenues for partnership. The discussions concluded on a positive note, with both the ASEANAPOL Secretariat and the Royal Malaysia Police looking forward to continued cooperation and mutual support in the future.
