IACP and ASEANAPOL partnership on capacity building programs for ASEAN Police Organizations

On March 12, 2024, ASEANAPOL Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan together with Director for Police Services, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dr. Bakri Zainal Abidin and Director for Plans and Programmes, Police Senior Lt. Col. Nguyen Huu Ngoc virtually met with Mr. Vince Hawkes, Director, Global Policing and Ms. Aimee G. Cheung, MPH, MS, Senior Program Manager, Global Policing of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is the world’s largest and most influential professional association for police leaders. With more than 33,000 members in over 170 countries, the IACP is a recognized leader in global policing, committed to advancing safer communities through thoughtful, progressive police leadership.
IACP in one of the valued Observers (since 2015) of ASEANAPOL and IACP has been actively participating in its annual activities. Director Hawkes assured that IACP has subject-matter-experts (present in the 27 committees) that can deliver the capacity building training based on the ASEANAPOL’s 10 core transnational organized crime areas.
ASEANAPOL values the relationship with IACP and pursues mutual interest “Together we keep this region safe” by building the capacity of law enforcement officers to enhance the efficiency and effective delivery of various public safety services to the community.
The goal is to ensure that our children’s children will have a safer place to Live, to Work and to do business.
